From August 3 to August 21, 2026, the International Jewelry School in Saint Petersburg will host a signature course by Alexey Kou dedicated to one of the most complex and technically demanding gemstone-setting techniques – Invisible Setting.
Invisible Setting makes it possible to create the effect of a continuous diamond surface without any visible elements holding the stones in place. The exceptional visual impact of this technique requires absolute precision at every stage of the process. Unlike traditional setting methods, the key factors here are channel geometry, base preparation, the specifics of stone recutting, and the accuracy of the overall structural design.
During the course, participants will study in detail:
Special attention will be given to understanding invisible setting as a unified engineering system, where the precision of each stage directly affects the reliability and longevity of the finished piece.
The course will be taught by Alexey Kou, a master stone setter with more than 15 years of experience in the jewelry industry. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with leading international brands, including Graff, Jacob & Co., and Patek Philippe, working on pieces that required the highest level of precision and impeccable setting quality. His professional experience forms the foundation of this signature program, which is designed for practicing jewelry-production specialists.
The program is intended for professional stone setters and includes intensive hands-on training under the direct supervision of the instructor.
